Why do we need a constitutional amendment?
On April 26, 2019, the Kansas Supreme Court created a nearly unlimited “right” to abortion in the 1859 Kansas Constitution and continued to allow the live dismemberment of preborn children in our state. Kansans have lost the right to ban even the most horrific practices like partial-birth and taxpayer-funded abortions. Countless mothers and their preborn babies are at risk.
Therefore, we urge you to sign the following petition calling for the Kansas Legislature to pass an amendment to the Kansas Constitution that reverses the Court’s ruling and declares there is no unlimited “right” to abortion in our state. If approved by the legislature, the Amendment will be subject to a public vote at a scheduled election.
